Covid-19 Update: With the State of Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine still in place, occupancies remain down although we did see a boost in room nights compare to April. On June 16th, the inter island travel quarantine will be lifted for local residents who want to travel inter island. This will help with bookings and we are hopeful occupancy will pick up over the next few weeks.
On March 21, 2020 the Governor issued a compliance with the State of Hawai’i stating that effective March 26, 2020 all people checking into hotels must undergo a 14-day mandatory self-quarantine. This mandate is still in place through July 31, 2020 for all out of state incoming travelers and look to possibly extend into July.
Safety remains our number one priority for our staff and guests. Check out cleaning procedures have been ramped up and our staff on duty takes extra precaution when preforming their daily duties.
Our latest report from the Hawaii Visitors Bureau shows an average of 1,700 people arrive daily to the State which consists of Flight Crew, Military, Exempt visitors, returning residents and visitors. Approximately 471 visitors arrive daily, all of which need to self-quarantine for 14 days or risk being fined and arrested and returned to their place of origin.
As we continue to be faced with challenges of our Covid-19 pandemic, it’s a day by day process for our staff and we are prepared to move forward should the time come to rebuild our property and see an increase in bookings.
